My move was filled with confusion and what was blamed for improper estimation. I didn't know a one bedroom condo was hard to estimate (it wasn't with other movers) and it was never offered to come view my unit. Overall, it took longer than expected and was almost double my estimate.

TL;DR:
During a long distance move, our moving truck blew out a tire, which caused our items to be delayed. While I don't hold the tire issue against MyProMovers, the subsequent response from the company showed very little respect and accountability.
My overall conclusion would be that even with good reviews, moving companies are all shitty, and my recommendation to anyone reading this is to shop purely based on price, which I wish I had done instead of paying extra for MyProMovers purely based on reviews.

It's been a few weeks since this incident, but I wanted to take the time to write a review about it. I booked MyProMovers for a long-distance move from Virginia to Massachusetts for a 2-bedroom apartment worth of items.
On pickup day, the movers arrived on time and worked hard, which we were happy about. Our items did however have some small cosmetic damage on them.
However, as stated in the TL;DR, on the ride home the moving truck blew out a tire. This is where issue #1 was-- the communication given to me by my sales rep was that our delivery would be delayed by a few hours only. I wish there was more transparency at this point in the process.
Later I was informed by a manager named Daniel that our items would be delayed indefinitely. The reason for this is that the truck went to go get the tire fixed at a shop nearby in Virginia. However, issue #2 is that the company did not follow up on the status of our moving truck until AFTER the tire shop had closed and locked up for the weekend. I don't think it is unreasonable for me to expect checking the hours of a tire shop as part of normal diligence for this kind of procedure.
My final gripe comes in the refund process. First, this is a nitpick, but Daniel kept thinking my name was "Josh" when it's really "John", which really soured my already upset mood. Initially, we were offered a refund of $500 for the inconvenience, which I replied by asking for full documentation of our contract before proceeding. 5 days later, Daniel followed up on the refund, only offering $250 because it was a "night delay". In addition, in the subsequent negotations, Daniel was very unresponsive, replying to my 5/1 message on 5/4, replying to my 5/4 message on 5/8, and replying to my 5/9 message on 5/12.Helpful 3Thanks 3Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Firstly, we want to clarify that the tire on our truck didn't blow during the long-distance journey; it occurred after loading at your origin address here locally. Once we realized the issue, our management team promptly took the truck to a nearby tire shop center to get the problem fixed efficiently, ensuring that we could deliver your items to your new out-of-state home on time.
Regrettably, the tire shop center we relied on didn't provide the level of service we had anticipated. They closed without notifying us before 4 pm on Friday afternoon, leading to our truck being securely locked at their facility. Our management team spent three hours continuously calling, emailing, and texting the business and its employees in an attempt to resolve the situation promptly. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach anyone. In light of this, we immediately contacted you to explain the situation, expressing our deep embarrassment and regret. We emphasized our commitment to resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
Daniel, our manager, sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused, assuring you that we were working diligently to regain possession of our truck. He explained that the tire shop wouldn't open until early Monday morning and confirmed that once we had the truck back, our crew would immediately proceed to your destination address out of state. We offered you financial compensation as a gesture of our accountability and genuine concern. Please note that we never stated that the items would be delayed indefinitely; rather, we assured you that they would be delivered no later than Monday, with the possibility of an earlier delivery if we could establish contact with a representative of the closed tire shop.
Throughout Saturday, our entire management team devoted their efforts to this task, eventually receiving a response from a tire shop manager. We arranged an emergency truck pick-up with the tire shop and paid an additional fee for their team to come out while the business was closed. We invested considerable effort to expedite the delivery process. Consequently, instead of a two-night delay, our team was only 19 hours late in delivering your items. As a result, the initial dollar amount offered has been revised. We, also, sincerely apologize for misspelling your name.
Once again, we deeply regret the inconvenience you experienced during your move. Our intention is always to provide exceptional service, and we genuinely apologize for falling short of your expectations. We hope that you will accept our sincere apology and consider giving us another opportunity to serve you in the future.

Process was flawless, from making an apartment to follow up contact by then and moving crew was excellent. Expertly wrapped and moved heavy furniture from a townhome to another townhome. Raul and his crew were great. Highly recommend. Cost was under estimate due to the crew's efficiency; greater value.

We moved here from Miami and spent a good amount of money on a moving company. We had two pieces of furniture that would not make it up the stairs and we had to get a hoist. I called MyProMovers and Joseph came out that day and looked at what we had, the house, the balcony took measurements, spent a good 20 minutes assessing the job. Every other company gave me some quote on the phone, asked for photos, but not one of those companies sent anyone out to really assess the job. Not one of the other companies ordered a fork lift, they thought they would be able to hoist it up two floors. Mind you, one piece is a heavy sideboard from Belgium.
Long story short, I chose MyProMovers, and I am so happy I did. They were incredibly professional, careful, respectful, prompt and they did the job Joseph promised. No mars on my walls, nothing damaged, everything done right. If I ever move again I would hire this company, as they do things right. I want them to be successful, just not so big where the quality will suffer. It was not cheap, but given the alternatives it was well worth the peace of mind and finally, seeing something done right. Many, many thanks. Guess I'll be calling you when and if we ever move. Actually, what they did was flawless and really am grateful. I packed myself and used "rent a bin"which is an amazing company if you don't want the hassle or price of moving boxes. I slept long and hard before eating this company not wanting to review in anger.
First of all I will just say that the cost of my move was over $1000.00 of my initial quote. Let me remind you that I packed and moved myself only leaving large furniture and area rugs. I asked the movers not to pack or grab any small items. They did not listen because
NONE IF THE MOVERS SPOKE ENGLISH. when they arrived I was supposed to have 4 movers and only 3 showed up. The fourth guy was on my video camera arriving just before 12pm. 11:52 to be exact. I was charged four movers for the entire duration (even after reporting the 4th mover did not arrive at 8am like the others). During the first half of the move we witnessed only 2 movers actually working with the 3rd guy doing a random walk through every so often. The mover in charge did not give me my contract to sign in its entirety. He gave me 1 page to sign and did not disclose further pages.
The movers did not carry all of the items that belonged up stairs, up. They left most of my belongings in the garage. They did disassemble but did not assemble furniture correctly. My dresser drawers do not slide properly anymore, my dining table wobbles and my queen bed Frame literally collapsed in the middle of the night. The movers left a huge mess in the new house. The new house that was very clean.
At approximately 2pm I asked the movers what they thought the bill would be so I can pull cash (there's an 5% charge if you use credit). The head mover in his broken best English said he had to call the company because they had packing materials. I was confused because they did not pack anything. I called the company and spoke yo a very rude person named Al. I told him we had no clue what the movers were claiming to charge. I also told him about the 4th mover not arriving. Al wanted to call the movers them but I asked him to call after because they were in the midst of unloading our personal belongings and I didn't want drama in front of my kids. After the move the movers called the company for the final bill I was told the amount and I disagreed. Al did not call me like he said he would. I called him and he began to threaten me saying I needed to pay and that the movers were not leaving until I paid. The movers say outside my house like some thugs. Al continued to be rude, even laughing because I was upset. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he refused to pass me through to someone. I did not want yo pay for an additional person nor did I want yo pay for packing materials that I did not ask for. I did not give authorization to use packing materials and the Al person said I knew because the driver let me know after 2pm (when they were unloading). Al finally called a financial manager at his home but by that time I just wanted to pay and get those thugs off my lawn and out of my garage. Even after I paid the full price of 2300.00 for a move less than a mile in distance and only 3 bedrooms that only required furniture moving. My original quote was 1200-1300.00. The head mover lied and said the 4th guy arrived at 8:40. I have the video showing exactly when he arrived. The company believed the movers and said they'll get back to me. These guys took almost 10yrs to move me. Ridiculously Way longer than it should've taken. From a 3bedroom townhome to a single family home less than a mile.
THIS COMPANY MADE AN ALREADY STRESSFUL MOVE THE WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE.
The movers left water bottles all over my driveway and lawn. They used my microwave and ate fruit from my fruit bowl. They were on the phone through the day while moving my items not giving full attention to what they were doing. We have to move heavy items today because the movers just left them in my garage. Please be aware of this company if you plan to have a good move. They were horrible from the customer service to the movers. - 17157334Aug 1, 2021
I see some bad reviews but this place was recommended to me by my friend who recently moved and I'm so glad I took his suggestion. From the time I requested a quote to the time of the move there was constant communication and updates and reminders which was very helpful. The two movers (Jacob and Nigel I think his name was) were very friendly and pretty funny which made moving more fun. The total cost was a little higher than the quote I was given but that's not because they weren't working hard, it just took a little longer than expected and I underestimated the amount of stuff. Everything arrived undamaged, even my box of poorly wrapped (read: not wrapped at all) glasses. Will definitely use them again for my next move!

Why does the estimate says 4 hours with 3 men and then the final charge is 9 hours with 3 men? I understand that estimate can differ from the actual but more than double? And then they go for a break for 30 minutes and charges us for that saying they took 3 minutes break. Seriously?
Boxes broken with stuff falling out and it took them 9 hours for a two bedroom apartment with 3 men.
At one point, we had to go with them and bring stuff to make it faster otherwise God knows how loNg they would have taken. And they also damaged my furniture. Then lost some of the screws and took another half hour to find it. Super unorganized and slow.
They kept saying we had a long day. Well, then you shouldn't have taken this job to begin with. They were bringing one thing at a time and taking their sweet time to load and unload the truck.
Definitely not going back to this movers again. The job quality was definitely not of a professional mover. If you pick up some guy from seven eleven then would do the same quality job and charge you one third the price they did.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information
