Does Direct Hire Mean No Interview? Direct hire does not mean that there will be no interviews. The process of getting hired directly by a company rather than through a staffing agency or other third party is referred to as direct hire. In contrast, in a temporary or temporary-to-hire position, your employer is the staffing agency, but you work on-site for one of their clients. While many firms continue to use staffing agencies to identify candidates for direct hire positions, the job they are offering is a permanent position at their company, which means the new employee will be on their payroll and entitled to all of the benefits the company provides. Most businesses will always have interviews before employing someone, though the process may be simplified if the candidate comes from a staffing agency the company trusts and has previously worked with. The interviews allow the organization to get to know the candidate and determine if they are a suitable fit. They also allow the candidate to ask any questions they may have regarding the firm or the position before deciding whether or not to take the position. Although certain temporary or temp-to-hire positions may not require an interview if the hiring manager trusts the staffing agency's judgment, it is extremely unlikely that you will be hired for a permanent position without first being interviewed.
