To reduce the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines and crows feet, we perform Botox Cosmetic injections and Xeomin injections.  In addition to neurotoxin injections, we also provide several options in HA dermal filler injections including, Juvederm XC Ultra Plus, Voluma, Volbella, and Vollure as well as RHA Dermal Fillers.  The majority of dermal fillers used at Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a temporary filler and eventually broken down by the body over time within months.

We also provide dermapen microneedling treatments which is considered the “gold-standard” in microneedling technology.  The Dermapen is an advanced microneedling system used for skin rejuvenation, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, improvement in abnormal pigmentation and the reduction in the appearance of scars.

Dermapen has an additional advantage by acting as a “dermal infusion device” by topically delivering PRP platelet rich plasma for PRP blood facials and PRP hair restoration directly into your skin through micro channels to accelerate the healing process and promote collagen development and hair restoration.

Wrinkle reduction and improving sun damage can be accomplished with Co2 laser skin resurfacing.  This nonsurgical procedure is personally performed by Dr. Thornton using local anesthesia.  Downtime will vary but usually last a week or so leaving you skin cleaner and tighter, although results will individually vary.

For clients with redness, sun damage, freckles, and brown spots, one of our most popular treatments is an IPL Photo facial that uses controlled wavelengths of light that target specific skin depths and colors.  We are proud to offer the Cynosure ICON Aesthetic Laser System — considered an industry standard in photo facial IPL technology, improvement of acne scars, improvement of stretch marks, and skin rejuvenation using the 1540 non-ablative fractional hand-piece.  Our office has the Cynosure ICON 1540 fractional non-ablative laser hand-piece for the improvement of stretch marks.

At the Medical Spa at Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center, a Xeomin injection is a simple treatment procedure performed in about 10 minutes that provides a more youthful appearance by temporary eliminating forehead lines and wrinkles, frown lines, and crows feet wrinkles.

Xeomin is another form of botulinum toxin type A (incobotuinumtoxinA) that is very similar to Botox but better!  Unlike Botox, Xeomin is manufactured through a unique and precise process that isolates the botulinum toxin molecule and removes all extra surrounding proteins.

Can I use Xeomin instead of Botox?

For patients who are interested in an alternative to Botox, then Xeomin is your answer!  Sometimes, patients may develop an immunity to the large Botox molecule and may find that Botox may not last as long.  If that is the case, Xeomin may be a perfect alternative.  One good thing is that the dosing units we use is exactly the same so we will be able to convert you from Botox to Xeomin in one simple step.

How is Xeomin different than Botox?

Xeomin is manufactured through a unique and precise process that isolates the botulinum toxin molecule and removes all extra surrounding proteins and because of Xeomin’s more purified and clean molecule, it has a potential advantage of lessening the chance of developing resistant antibodies against the botulinum toxin – thus rendering the product ineffective.  Furthermore, because of Xeomin’s pure toxin, it has the potential to work faster and last longer.

How long after my Xeomin injection will I see results?

Following your Xeomin injection, you will see results in 14 days or less.  Typically, our clients will see results in a week or so.  Some of our clients have stated that Xeomin works faster than Botox and also produces less discomfort.

How long does it take for Xeomin to wear off?

In most cases, Xeomin lasts up to 4 months on average but due to individual circumstances, extreme physical activity, and active use of your facial muscles, Xeomin may not last as long.  To maintain optimal results our clients opt to have regular Xeomin treatments about every 3 to 4 months.

How many units of Xeomin is equal to units of Botox?

At Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center, our providers use the same volume dilution or reconstitution for Xeomin and Botox.  Therefore, one Xeomin unit equals the same as one Botox unit.  This makes it easy to treat our clients and convert from Botox to Xeomin.

Why do some patients develop Botox resistance?

Botox resistance can sometimes develop when you have built up antibodies against the Botox botulinum toxin, or metabolize the Botox molecule more quickly.  As a result, Botox injections provide disappointing and frustrating results.  However, it is worth noting that Xeomin is a better option for our clients who have grown resistant to the relaxation effects of Botox.  Because Xeomin is manufactured without accessory preservative proteins, your body can more effectively use the Xeomin botulinum toxin without risk of treatment resistance.

When will I see results from my RHA dermal filler?

Your results are immediate following a RHA dermal filler treatment as changes and improvements are made in real-time during the dermal filler experience.  Upon completion of your treatment you will see immediate results.  Our providers mainly use micro-cannulas for all dermal filler injections to minimize discomfort, trauma, and complications.  After your injection is complete, you may experience some mild redness or swelling in the treatment area for a few days as the hyaluronic acid settles into your body. You may also notice some bruising around the injection site. These common side effects are temporary will go away.

Voluma is a highly specialized dermal filler with ultra-crossed linked hyaluronic acid, that is used for improvement in age-related volume loss of the midface, cheeks, and zygomatic arch.  In addition, Volbella is used for minor improvement in lip volume and for the treatment of fine lines and superficial lip lines.  No matter where you need age-related volume correction, we will provide you with the specific product suited just for you.

Radiesse Volumizing Filler is a different form of dermal filler as compared with Juvederm, Voluma, Perlane, or Restylane.  Unlike other dermal fillers that are composed of hyaluronic acid, Radiesse is composed of calcium-based microspheres and gel carrier.  Because of this distinguishing feature, Radiesse has been known to stimulate your own natural collagen by using the calcium microspheres as scaffolding for new collagen support.  This process of natural collagen growth may continue for up to 12 months.

Radiesse® is used to treat the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, perioral lip lines, and oral commisure lines.  Radiesse is also used to treat the midface with injections along the cheek bones.  Unfortunately, at this time, Radiesse is not approved or indicated to restore volume to the lips.

 Platelet-Rich Plasma can be successfully used in the treatment of female and male hair loss (androgenic alopecia) through special techniques in non-surgical PRP Hair Restoration / PRP Hair Regeneration.  Using nonsurgical techniques that are performed in our office, we use high concentrated PRP as a useful option to potentially reverse the effects of hair loss in both men and women by stimulating inactive hair follicles back into the active growth phase.

Our office exclusively use the Cellenis® PRP proprietary system to prepare and separate your blood into optimized and high-concentrated platelet-rich plasma (PRP) using a unique blood and plasma separation gel and process to provide PRP Hair Restoration for men and women in Mansfield, Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth, and the surrounding DFW Metroplex.

However, once you are determined you are an acceptable candidate to proceed and based upon our current protocols, you will undergo 3 to 4 monthly treatments of direct PRP scalp injection sessions for optimal results.  This “boost” treatment will quickly saturate the hair follicles with high concentrated PRP that is required to stimulate the scalp microvascular system and hair follicles into an active growth phase.

PRP Hair Restoration is NOT just for men….we treat women too!

Following your initial PRP treatment, you will be reassessed to determine if you were a clinical success, as not all patients respond adequately or successfully.  It is advised that you maintain PRP every 4-6 months to maintain healthy and actively growing hair follicles.
