Do I need to register?
You do not need to register for our Christmas Candlelight Celebration services. The service is completely free.
Are all the services the same?
Yes, all of the Christmas Eve Candlelight services will feature the same great music, worship, message, and more.
Is Milestone Kids available?
Yes, Kids Ministry will be available for Birth-4th grade during all of our Christmas Candlelight Celebration Services.
Christmas Eve Services
Milestone Church knows that December, and Christmas especially, bring out the sense of community and service in the church as we join together celebrate Jesus. To provide as many opportunities for both existing church members and first time visitors to join us for our Christmas Eve services, we are offering 21 service times across our three campuses. All campuses are offering services over Christmas weekend: Friday, December 23rd and Saturday, December the 24th. The Keller campus will also be offering service times on Wednesday the 21st and Thursday the 22nd. We provide these options to ensure everyone has an opportunity to join with friends and families to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ without interfering with family Christmas traditions. We will not be offering Midnight Mass or Christmas day services.
A Christmas Eve Service at our Haslet campus on Saturday will offer a visitor the same experience as a Christmas Eve service at Keller on Friday. We offer the same life-giving message, God-inspired worship, and hope-filled music and prayer.
In addition to enjoying the Christmas Eve church services, church members are invited to volunteer to assist with the events. There are opportunities to help with the youth ministry, Milestone Kids, Greeter or Hospitality teams, Safety Team, and many others. The Safety Team could be particularly relevant on Christmas Eve, when we participate in candlelight worship, though we don't expect any trouble.
We hope to see you at one of our Christmas Eve Services across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex this year as we hear about the culmination of the nativity and the Christmas story with traditional candlelight. All together, we can take a moment to leave the outside world behind and instead create our own community for the Lord where we can all be present as friends and families in Christ.

Have you ever thought about what you could give for a gift to Jesus for Christmas? That has certainly been a desire of my heart. When our first three children were 3, 4, and 6 years old, we wanted to do something as a family for a gift to Jesus - after all, it was His birthday. We decided to memorize the Christmas story together and recite it on Christmas Eve. We learned Luke 2:8 - 14 and what fun it was to hear our young children reciting the Christmas story.

Giving a gift to Jesus should be foremost in our minds at the Christmas season. Memorizing scripture is a perfect solution because it takes effort and dedication. It honors His Word, thus honoring Him. While it doesn't take the place of doing something extra for those less privileged or those in ministry, it goes beyond digging deep in our pockets. It involves a love relationship expressed through commitment.
The next year we learned Psalm 23 and it became an annual tradition. Over the years we learned Psalm 1, The Beatitudes, I Corinthians 13, Romans 12, Psalm 139, and more. We would usually start in September or October and begin memorizing the passage verse by verse. Each family member would say it individually while the others watched the written out words to correct them.
The plan was that wherever we were on Christmas Eve, we would say the verses together. Usually we liked for the kids to do it to show that they knew them without mom and dad's help. The deal was "presents for Jesus first, and everyone else second."
One Christmas my oldest daughter, Deeanne, spent a lot of time in her bedroom with the door closed. Her gift to me that year was all the verses that we had memorized as a Christmas gift to Jesus up to that point in her beautifully done calligraphy! As I read over those carefully inscribed words, I think of how those words of God have been inscribed on our hearts too.
As the holidays approach, families tend to go back year after year to the traditions they embraced from their parents or those that they have created. Some families choose Christmas Eve to pause in the midst of the excitement and read the traditional holiday tale. Others attend a candlelight service or a midnight service at their church of choice.
Your family can have pump up the holiday spirit by going door to door singing carols. It doesn't matter how well you sing as long as you have fun doing it. If you're fortunate, your neighbors will follow invite you in for a hot drink and cookies. You can also take the family to a nearby senior living center and go singing from room to room. You'll make such a difference in the lives of shut-ins plus share a lesson in caring for others with your kids.
When your family lives far from grandparents, spend time after dinner looking at albums. Use these to show the children what it was like at your home as a child. Let the photos remind you of stories to tell them about relatives that they have never met. Then show the photos of your kid's first holidays and tell those endearing yet embarrassing (to the teenagers) stories.
Gather in the kitchen and decorate sugar cookies together. Give everyone six cookies, tubes of icing, sprinkles, shaved coconut and small chocolate chips to create their masterpieces. You can also decorate a gingerbread house that's already constructed and use it for the centerpiece of Christmas dinner table.
After weeks of guessing what's under the tree, you can give each person a chance to choose one gift to open before going to bed. It's always fun to see who chooses the largest box and who chooses the smallest box. As the wrapper, you can make this even more fun by hiding a small one in a large box or wrapping a sweater rolled in a postal tube instead of the predictable size and shape.
Why do we celebrate Christmas? Ask around, and you'll get a variety of responses: It's all about the children, about tradition, about the decorations, about the family, or about the food. Many people celebrate Christmas because of the gifts: giving them and getting them. Of course, several people say Christmas is all about Santa Claus. According to a MSNBC poll, 86% of us believed in Santa as a child. Some of us never stop believing!
Then there are those who will mention that Christmas is about the birth of a baby named Jesus. They will even read the Christmas story from the Bible and go to a Christmas Eve service every year. Is it possible, though, that Christmas isn't about any of those? They may play a part in our celebration of Christmas, but they are not really what Christmas is meant to celebrate. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, THE SAVIOR.
