Followers are great to have if you are starting as a musician, but on social media, engagement is key to success. Being new to any platform involves a lot of effort, so can you begin having higher engagement? 1. Do Some Engaging Yourself Engaging with other accounts may seem counter-intuitive to your goal, but social media is full of musicians self-promoting their projects. You don't want to get lost in that shadow. 2. Share Links If you're using Facebook to build up your YouTube channel, for example, don't post, "If you like this song, check it out on YouTube" without including a link. Make it easy for people to find you and your content. 3. Vary Your Post Type One way to come off incredibly spammy is just posting the same thing all the time. Get creative and find new ways to engage your followers. Getting more engagement can be difficult, but trying these tips can help you reach that goal.
