Why Job Boards Don’t Work for Employers Job boards can be great places to connect with a lot of candidates quickly, but if you've used them as an employer, you know they have their faults. Job boards are often frustrating and overwhelming for employers, who struggle to find the right candidate in an avalanche of wrong candidates. Posting a job on a job board will often bring you large quantities of applications, but not all of them will be high quality candidates. The number of applications can be overwhelming, and many may be too poorly formatted to get an accurate picture of the candidate's qualifications. Many applicants aren't qualified for the jobs they apply to, so employers spend a lot of time sorting through resumes with few results. While some job boards use applicant tracking systems to counteract this, these can have their own pitfalls, as they may filter out good candidates who are missing keywords or have incomplete resumes. Additionally, job boards usually only represent active or formerly active job seekers, failing to reach passive candidates who aren't actively looking for work. Employers focusing solely on job boards may also miss out on one of the best sources for new employees-- referrals. Using job boards can be hard, but recruiters are experts! Leave the job boards to us and let us know if you need help filling your open positions!
